Dr. Chandravadhana receives the prestigious Fulbright fellowship for her commendable social work in the area of women empowerment. She will be doing further research at Gendered Innovation Labs, Stanford University under supervision of Prof. LondaSchiebinger. Dr. Chandravadhana’s work basically involves the implementation of gendered innovations frameworks inside the startup ecosystem around the world. She has plans to start an assessment center to observe start up incubators. Her work will be performed during Jan 2022 to 2024 in the university’s history department.
Dr. Chandravadhana is a popular social entrepreneur known for her work through nonprofit organization like Prayaana Labs (www.prayaana.org). Her major aim behind Prayaana is to encourage women employment and inculcating an entrepreneurial mindset among women and girls who wish to fulfill their dreams.
However, Dr. Chandravadhana has a rich history of social work and women empowerment reforms behind her. She is the first Indian woman to win special social recognition for social entrepreneurship from UNCTAD which is specifically offered to women in business doing exceptional work. She is also a proud recipient of the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), sponsored program by the US State Department (2019).
She has joined hands with the advisory boards of the various government bodies and startups in India. She offers consultation under the UNCTAD women in business program. Dr. Chandravadhana is also proud author of two poetry books named The Girl in me (2019) and The woman in me (2021).
Dr. Chandravadhana’s social work also involves running a woman only magazine called Shesight (www.shesightmag.com), an e-learning platform for employability skills development known as hellopeaksacademy (www.hellopeaksacademy.com) and an e commerce platform (www.pracol.com) selling only women crafted products.
She is soon going to release a short film titled ‘The Identity’ which is again based on the uplifting topic of women who want to make a mark for themselves.
Dr. Chandravadhana had done her PhD in Management from SMS, CUSAT and she is known for developing a psychometric tool that can measure the managerial soft skills. She holds an MBA from the CUSAT 2004 and M.Sc. in Applied psychology from University of Madras.
